Understanding Our CSA

  • Farmer plans for the upcoming season based off of prior seasons and crop yield- this helps determine how many available shares in the season. (October)
  • Farmer adds up projected season expenses related to tools, soil amendments, cost of seeds, plants, feed, animals, and routine upkeep- this helps determine the cost of the shares. (November)
  • Once the share numbers and price are determined, farmer begins buying, cleaning, producing, and providing upkeep services for the up coming season. (usually in January) Share payments are used to decrease the burden of these upfront preseason costs.
  • Months (Feb and March) before the season begins seedlings are started and crop rotation and succession planting methods are in place. Hand made items are being created, labels, recipes, and ideas molded.
  • The season begins with the first harvest of fresh produce and the first deliveries from our farm to your door. 1st week of June.
  • During the season you receive weekly updates and what to expect in your shares. Regular season ends last week of October.
  • Final harvest of summer and Fall crops occurs in October, while lettuce and greens continue to grow for the Extended Season (NOV-DEC). Stored root vegetables and winter squashes are taken out of storage for these weeks.
  • The 2026 season ends at the new year (2027) when the process begins again!
